Navy Deploys Ship to Secure President's Visit in Biak

The Indonesian Navy in Biak Numfor District has deployed a military ship in Biak waters to secure the visit of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on August 21, 2014.

"We will implement the security strategy by deploying KRI Tongkol to secure the visit of President Yudhoyono in the region," Commander of Biak Navy Base Lieutenant Colonel Susanto stated here on Wednesday.

He noted that the Navy will conduct inspection and monitoring to secure the waters during Yudhoyono's visit.

A total of 800 joint security personnel from the Police and Indonesian Military will be deployed during Yudhoyono's visit to Biak.

With regard to the recent security situation in Biak, the commander reported that the condition is conducive and under control.

The Biak Administration continues to maintain cleanliness in the area by deploying cleaning officers and civil servants who conduct community service.

The local administration has also requested the public to hoist the Indonesian flag and place colorful banners in their houses.
